Vanity Guard

Protect your discord.gg vanity: alert on theft or loss, warn before boosts drop, watch target vanities, and verify who holds a vanity before a trade.

Vanity Guard protects your server's custom discord.gg vanity URL. It alerts you the instant the vanity is changed or lost, warns you before your boosts fall below the level that keeps it, watches vanities you want to grab, and lets you prove which server a vanity points to. It is off by default.

What it can and can't do

It can detect and alert on vanity changes, loss and availability, and punish whoever changes the vanity without permission.

It can't set, restore or claim a vanity. Discord provides no bot endpoint to change a vanity: that is only possible from Server Settings by a human with Manage Server. Any "instant re-claim" or "auto-snipe" tool works by driving a user account (a selfbot), which breaks Discord's Terms and risks a ban. exceed will never do that. Vanity Guard is the honest, ToS-safe version: it watches and warns, and you act.

Give exceed the View Audit Log permission so it can see who changed the vanity.

Commands

,vanityguard (aliases ,vguard, ,vanitysecure) needs Administrator:

,vanityguard on #vanity-alerts turn it on and set the alert channel
,vanityguard punish ban ban whoever changes the vanity
,vanityguard boostwarn on --margin 3 warn when boosts get within 3 of losing it
,vanityguard watch add exceed alert me when discord.gg/exceed frees up
,vanityguard watch list show watched vanities
,vanityguard whitelist add @staff let a trusted member change it silently
,vanityguard config show the current setup

Anyone can verify a vanity's holder:

,vanityverify discord.gg/exceed proves which server it points to, right now

Features

  • Anti-theft: if someone changes or removes your vanity, exceed alerts you with who did it (from the audit log) and can strip their roles, kick or ban them. The server owner is never punished; whitelist trusted staff to skip them.
  • Boost-drop warning: a vanity needs Boost Level 3 (14 boosts). Vanity Guard warns you before you drop below, so you don't lose the vanity to a sniper by surprise.
  • Vanity watch: add the vanities you want; exceed checks them on a slow, rate-limit-safe schedule and pings you the moment one becomes available to claim. (You claim it yourself in Server Settings. The alert just gives you the head start.)
  • Proof of hold (,vanityverify): a live, timestamped check of which server a vanity currently resolves to. This kills the biggest scam in vanity trading, where a seller only offers "it comes on a fresh server" with no proof.

For vanity sellers and traders

Vanity Guard is built to be useful to the vanity market without cheating: use watch to know the instant a target drops, proof of hold to prove an asset is genuinely live before a sale, and anti-theft + boost warnings to make sure a vanity you're holding doesn't get taken out from under you. It won't snipe for you. Nothing that respects Discord's rules can.
